Shaker/Seed Sorter for a Mason Jar
thingiverse
A perforated lid for an 86 mm Mason Jar is being designed, featuring three distinct hole sizes: 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm. This design aims to provide a functional solution for seed sorting, with the top featuring 4mm holes serving as a tool for separating cilantro seeds. The theory behind this design suggests that larger seeds have more energy potential, resulting in faster-growing plants. The lid with 2-3 mm holes can be used for smaller seeds or as a spice shaker. A unique version of the perforated top is also being considered, featuring an additional .5mm fillet on its top side. This design modification is intended to prevent the "elephant's foot" effect, where particles settle unevenly in the bottom layer.
