This is a protective skirt designed to encircle a quarter-inch vertical shaft, safeguarding a lower component such as a bearing from water infiltration. Featuring a split design, it allows for installation on a shaft even when the ends are inaccessible, permitting the skirt to be slid onto the shaft. Securely fastened with two number 2 one-quarter inch long self-tapping screws, the two halves of the skirt are held together. To ensure a watertight seal, it is highly recommended that a small amount of silicone sealant be applied between the two halves and around the shaft.
