Shaft Oil Applicator
thingiverse
To lubricate slender printer shafts, place a slim layer of oil on your applicator. Ensure compatibility with 8mm or thinner shafts. Updates from March 15, 2013 reveal that a 100% fill in the applicator ensures water tightness. If the applicator leaks oil, adjust the fit inside the lid by removing 0.1 mm to ensure proper fitting. Updated STL files and instructions are now available. To utilize this tool, print both pieces, insert a 4mm low-density rubber foam strip into the applicator's top section, saturate the foam with oil, run it along the shafts while turning them if applicable, replace the cap on the applicator, and stand it upright for optimal use. Print settings include using KISSlicer at 0.12mm layers and applying a 100% fill to both the applicator and cover/stand for extra strength and durability.
