Shadowrun 5 Initiative Tracker
thingiverse
Initiative Marker: a device designed to work in conjunction with numbered 3mm pegs to keep track of initiative order. I utilized values ranging from 1 to 39, covering most common initiative results in SR5, aside from highly specialized builds that may deviate significantly. Initially, I intended to start at higher numbers and continue upwards for a bit more, given the rarity of scores below about 5. However, recognizing that wounds and other conditions can lower initiative, I adjusted the range to include values as low as 1. The tracker features an internal compartment designed to store pegs, connectors, and the dial, with potential use for pens or dice. I have yet to incorporate the connector needed to seal the box, opting instead to refine my design before implementing this feature. Those in a hurry or with technical expertise can create their own locking mechanism: essentially half of the connector pin doubled in height, forming a trapezoid with parallel sides 1cm apart and dimensions 1 cm by 1.4cm (subtracting 0.3 to 0.5 from these measurements may be necessary). The ideal height for this component is approximately 3cm, matching the cutout's 1.5cm depth; a slightly smaller design should also fit. I am considering adding space for neodymium magnets to reduce reliance on friction as the primary means of keeping the box shut. Currently, I am printing the model and plan to post pictures once it is complete.
