Shadow Display (Customizer)
thingiverse
The shadow display is a static object that displays 2 different images when illuminated from 2 specific angles, showcasing low resolution black and white images. This creation can be replicated programmatically, allowing users to **design their own**: 1. Create 2 distinct black and white (not grayscale) images that are precisely 20x20 pixels in size, easily done in MS Paint or similar software, with a white background color for optimal results. 2. Click the "Open In Customizer" button to initiate the process. 3. Select the nozzle size of your printer, with 0.2mm proving to be the most suitable option, although 0.4mm can produce larger prints. 4. Upload both images using the "Open File" buttons. 5. Click "Create Thing" to start the creation process. 6. Access the Queue section. 7. Wait for approximately 5 minutes before proceeding with printing the output. 8. Once printed, the shadow display is ready for use. For additional customization options, download the SCAD file and run it locally, allowing users to experiment with variables listed at the top of the file.
