The Sgian Dubh: A Handy Utility Knife with a Rich History This is Not a Weapon, But a Useful Tool The sgian dubh (pronounced like "skin doo") is more than just a stylish accessory - it's a practical utility knife that has been an integral part of Scottish dress for centuries. Typically worn tucked into the sock, this versatile tool has proven itself to be an indispensable companion in various situations. In recent times, the sgian dubh has evolved to become a popular fashion statement, with many people opting to wear de-weaponized versions. Some have even taken to humorously referring to these modern variations as "sgian don'ts" (a playful take on the original name). I'm currently working on crafting a flashlight that takes inspiration from this iconic design. However, I was so impressed by the sleek shape of the empty shell that I decided to showcase it separately.
