SFSU Global Museum-107.1 - Nespaperennub
sketchfab
This cartonnage (a mummy-envelope made of linen, gum, and plaster) housed the innermost coffin in a nesting set belonging to a man named Nes-pa-per-en-nub (Nespaperennub). We can pinpoint that Nespaperennub lived in Thebes during the 22nd dynasty by examining the style of his coffin and titles painted on it. Nespaperennub's coffins, as well as Nespaperennub himself, were purchased by Adolf Sutro in Egypt during the early 1880s and displayed at the Sutro Baths for over half a century. Luckily, they were relocated to San Francisco State University before the Baths burned to the ground in 1966.
