SFSU Global Museum-106.1,2 - Nespaperennub
sketchfab
This is the innermost coffin of Nespaperennub, a priest at Amun's temple in Thebes during Egypt's 22nd Dynasty. Originally, the cartonnage would have nestled inside it like a matryoshka doll. It would also fit snugly into the outer coffin (SFSU 105.1,2). Nespaperennub's coffins and his mummy were acquired by Adolf Sutro in Egypt during the early 1880s. He displayed them at the Sutro Baths for over five decades. Fortunately, they were relocated to San Francisco State University before the Baths were destroyed by fire in 1966.
