This coffin belonged to a woman whose name has vanished from history. She likely lived during the 21st Dynasty (around 1075-950 BCE) and was laid to rest at Mo'alla. It is believed that this coffin was acquired by Adolph Sutro on his trip to Egypt, probably in 1884. He purchased four sets of coffins during this journey, and two of them have survived until today. The other set consists of three coffins attributed to Nespaperennub. Both sets withstood the 1906 earthquake and were showcased at the Sutro Baths in San Francisco for over five decades. They were donated to San Francisco State's Museum Studies program just months before the Baths were demolished by fire in 1966.
