SF30/SN30 Pro Thumbstick Replacement

My trusty SF30 Pro thumbstick had worn out, so I decided to create a new one from scratch. There are two versions available: flat and concave. To compensate for the material's lack of traction, I added a textured pattern to the stick. Surprisingly, the concave version works best in my experience. This design requires printing with supports for the overhanging area within the dome, but the stick itself doesn't need any support. Printing at a low layer height, such as 0.1 or smaller, ensures a smooth dome surface. You may also want to sand the dome to achieve an even smoother finish, allowing the stick to move effortlessly and prevent sticking. To install the new thumbstick, you'll need a small Torx screwdriver. Simply remove the controller's screws, then access the thumbsticks by removing four more screws. Slide the old thumbstick off and replace it with the new one. Edit 07/07/18: I've updated my design to include a TPU top layer and PETG bottom layer to improve grip. While this upgrade provides some additional traction, there's still room for improvement. Edit 14/12/19: After a year of using this thumbstick, I'm pleased to say that the spiked front face version offers the best grip yet.
