On this day, March 18th, 1919, marks the 104th anniversary of a heroic feat in human history. Seyit Ali Onbaşı, also known as Seyit Çabuk or Koca Seyit, was an Ottoman Army gunner during World War I who will forever be remembered for his remarkable bravery. Born in 1889 and passing away in 1939, Seyit Ali Çabuk's name became synonymous with heroism when he volunteered to carry three shells to a stranded artillery piece on March 18th, 1915. This act of selflessness took place during the Allied forces' attempt to force their way through the Dardanelles. Seyit Ali Çabuk's heroic actions were a testament to his unwavering commitment to duty and a shining example for all those who have followed in his footsteps.
