Sextant

Sextant

cults3d

This is a sextant, an instrument sailors used to determine their latitude by measuring the angle between the sun or another star and the horizon. The scale and upper mirror still require some adjustments. For now, you can print one yourself using this guide at http://www.tecepe.com.br/nav/XTantProject.htm. To assemble it all, use M3 and M2 screws and nuts. Glue is also an option, but make sure that parts which need to move can do so freely. You will also need two 35 x 15 mm mirrors, ideally made of polished metal without glass, in order to minimize refraction.
