Sewing frame H key
thingiverse
To continue my bookbinding tools collection, this time, I present an H-shaped key for a sewing frame - essential if you plan to bind books using tape. Disregard my earlier advice on chipboard; it's labor-intensive and not durable. I tried quarter-inch oak but found it too fragile along the grain. Therefore, I suggest quarter-inch pine plywood as an alternative. For fabrication, opt for 3D printing the provided .stl file or laser cutting the .dxf file using a laser cutter. Alternatively, I've created an imperial unit design that can be carved from wood. Drill holes with a 1/4-inch drill bit first, followed by chiseling between them. Lastly, trim around the outline using your preferred tool, like a Japanese woodworking saw and chisel.
