This assembly is designed for attaching to homemade masks, featuring two parts that come together seamlessly. It's specifically threaded for North filter cartridges, making it a convenient fit for many users. If there's sufficient interest, I'm open to re-designing the assembly for twist lock cartridges as well. Another consideration is swapping the current sewing-on method with a more practical solution - allowing the two flanges to thread together, enabling easy removal of the mask for thorough cleaning. However, this design tweak may come with its own set of challenges, including potential thread weakening and eventual disintegration after moderate use. Your feedback on this concept would be invaluable in helping me perfect it.
