Seville's majestic cathedral began construction at the start of the 15th century and continued through to the dawn of the 16th. This monumental task was undertaken in tandem with the ancient mosque, carefully preserving its lush orange grove and iconic tower, La Giralda. The imposing structure boasts a Gothic style, making it the largest cathedral globally in terms of sheer surface area.
