Hooooboy! I had the brilliant idea to put Catan onto a sphere, and I wanted it to be compatible with the awesome set from Dakanzla that I already had. (https://www.thingiverse.com/make:792638) Check out this video in action: https://youtu.be/XFdYG2C8QCA However, you can't create a sphere using only hexagons; you need to break them up with several irregular pentagons. So, I did some intense math and came up with this design. In total, it utilizes the 30 base tiles from the 5-6 player expansion and the ocean pentagons that make up the structure are equipped to utilize the 11 harbor trades. I ended up reprinting most of my whole set so everything would have slots for the magnets. Also, the little 3mm magnets for the table set aren't strong enough to keep the upside-down tiles or hold the player pieces and robber in place, so I created this design to also use 5mm round (https://www.amazon.com/Magnets-Magnetic-Fidget-Multicolored-Duotone/dp/B089M9FJ5S/) and 5mm flat magnets. Just make sure when you glue them in that you pay attention to the direction of the magnets; polarity can be a real pain. Warning, this is an extremely time-consuming project. Happy playing!
