Servo Pointer Needle

Servo Pointer Needle

thingiverse

This is a precision pointer needle engineered to attach seamlessly to a servo motor, serving as an accurate gauge or meter indicator. Its primary purpose is for electronics projects and experiments, such as with Arduino or Raspberry Pi sensor indicators, where the servo acts as a sophisticated analog visual indicator of fill level, temperature, position, or any other indication of a sensor value reading. Designed specifically for the widely-used Tower Pro Micro Servo 9g (SG90), this needle can be easily scaled to fit other servo horn sizes. Its design features an ingenious recess on the bottom to accommodate the single-arm horn from the servo, allowing for effortless attachment via super-glue or hot glue. Two versions of the needle are included: one that completely covers the servo horn and another with a strategically-placed hole to enable installation of the horn's screw after mounting the glued assembly onto the servo. Printed without supports, this design works well in most cases; however, it does require your printer to bridge a gap (the servo horn recess) to print successfully. The source FreeCAD files (.FCStd) are provided for those who wish to make modifications or adjustments to suit their specific needs.
