Servo operated leaf shutter

Servo operated leaf shutter

thingiverse

This remix of an excellent servo operated leaf shutter added thickness to the actuating part of the shutter leafs, added a top to close it off, and adjusted the height of the motor support to better fit a standard 9g servo. A mount for a 360mm lomo process lens is also included. To mount the gear onto the servo motor, cut away the arms from one of the servo interfaces until just the hub is left. Glue the hub into the gear and screw it onto the servo after installing it into the shutter body. An arduino nano drives the servo and the software can be found at https://github.com/hackaninstant/Servo-Shutter, as well as the schematic and gerber files for PCB construction. A project box is included to install the PCB as well as 4 18650 batteries (2 powering the arduino, 2 powering the servo). The software uses an I2C SSD1306 128x64 display, has shutter speeds of 1/8 to 10 minutes and Time, has a cancelable self timer up to 255 seconds, and has a configuration screen enabling you to adjust open/close angles, relief angles, and servo delay on the fly, storing them into eeprom. Since it's made for a large format lens, the shutter is easily opened for composing/focusing. Flash sync can be added with a TLP127 opto isolator and can be configured with the servo delay to flash when the shutter is completely open.
