Servo on Axle Mount for TRX-4
cults3d
Performance upgrade for Traxxas TRX-4 Does away with the flexy Panhard Mount on the shock tower that prevents full turning angle in high grip situations. Lowers the Center of Gravity and makes the servo part of the unsprung weight of the vehicle for better climbing performance. Allows for more upward suspension travel as there is no Pahhard bar hitting the chassis. Notes: Since you will no longer use the Panhard Bar, you will need to make a 4th Link for the front axle (with a slight S bend to clear the motor) and drill a hole on the chassis. You will need 2x Axle Panhard & Link Mounts to connect this part (the tall front axle link mount). Some might need to trim a little bit of the inner part of the chassis rails to clearance for full articulation. Load is distributed trogh the 2x Axle Link Mounts + the Upper Link Mounts, making a solid connection with the axle. The mount was designed to have a snug fit. I have tested with a Reef's 555 & a PowerHD 20Kg Servo and both fit well. For the bolts connecting to the Upper Axle Links, please check if you bolt heads will fit through, if not you can open them up a little with a drill bit or a body reamer. Make sure to use M3 bots of appropriate size (I did not wright down their sizes but they are all common lenght found on any TRX4). The ones that connect to the axle and upper links may colide with each other if too long. As with all plastic parts do not over-thighten. This item is for Personal, Non Commercial use only.
