Servo Flower

Servo Flower

This lamp is inspired by the beauty of the Lotus flower. It's made up of 12 separate leaves, each one powered by its own SG90 servo, allowing them to move freely. The servos are controlled by an Arduino Uno, which I've programmed to work with a light-sensitive resistor. However, for easier assembly, I used a potentiometer instead. A simple Arduino sketch makes it easy to control all the leaves with just one potentiometer. If you're not familiar with wiring up servos and potentiometers, check out the Arduino website for guidance: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/HomePage In my code, I've divided the servos into six pairs, making it easier to manage them. You can see a picture of the layout online. The leaves and LED holders are printed in "spiral vase mode," with each pair of leaves printed as a single vase. After printing, you'll need to cut out the leaves carefully with scissors. I recommend using a 0.4 mm nozzle for most leaves, but if you're using a 0.5 mm nozzle, be prepared for a more challenging cutting process. To make assembly easier, I glued the leaves onto their holders, which are also printed in "spiral vase mode." The LED holder has small holes at the top for wiring and two slots cut out at the bottom to allow for easy installation. The LEDs themselves are 1w units that need to be attached to a heat sink. I created custom heat sinks from aluminum pieces shaped like flowers. If you're unsure about how to drive these LEDs, check out another model online: https://pinshape.com/items/40378-3d-printed-simple-led-driver The base of the lamp is printed normally and requires support material. To mount the leaves' arms to their servos, I used the screws that came with the servos. You'll also need four M3x10 bolts and nuts to secure everything in place. The servos fit snugly together like Legos, making assembly a breeze. Finally, you'll need small wood screws or the ones that come with the SG90 servos for the bottom lid.
