Servo direct connector (surface melt) - femur, thigh bone
thingiverse
Directly connected to metal gears of two servos, this part originates from tmbg's 3DOF Mini Quadruped femur.stl. It serves as a femur for walking robots. To install, print with at least four perimeters and adjust wall size by tripling the "stab" variable with your printer's nozzle size. The printed part should not fit initially on the servo. Heat up the inner surface of the part using an alcohol torch, like Buffalo's flame-tipped bottle. Press the heated part onto the metal geared servo and allow it to cool before fixing with a screw. For nylon geared servos, cooling the nylon gear first may be beneficial. Be cautious as nylon may not fit regular horns after this process. If the nylon melts, servo damage could occur. Ensure fire safety while working with flammable plastics and have an adult monitor torch usage.
