Servo Adapter for Automated Blinds
thingiverse
This adapter mounts to a standard HiTec round servo horn and interfaces with the hexagonal rod within the blinds to allow the servo to control the opening and closing of the blind slats. The blinds used are off-the-shelf Home Depot 2" faux wood models, which require a mount or spacer to align the servo with the rod and keep it from moving in the top rail. For added strength, print the adapter at 100% infill. To assemble the parts, drill out four holes in the servo horn using a 1/16" drill bit. Install four 2-56 screws as studs in the horn and mount the horn to the servo. Finally, install the adapter onto the servo horn. The blind control system uses an Arduino and the mysensors plug-in (mysensors.org). Note that an additional adapter is available with a 14mm bolt pattern upon request. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Makerfarm 12 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: Printed at .2mm height with a .4mm nozzle Infill: 100% Notes: The adapter was printed with support to create the pocket that fits over the servo mounting screw. However, this area is small enough that it could be bridged without issue.
