Notched/Serrated Fish Tail Point Variant, XCB-105-3287, Dates: 400 BCE - 100 CE Located in Adamagan (Aleut for "place of walrus hunters"), a massive village situated at the head of Morzhovoi Bay on the western Alaska Peninsula. The site was occupied from 400 BCE to 100 CE and is believed to have been home to an estimated 1,000 people during its peak period. Adamagan features multiple occupations dating back to different eras: 2,200-1,700 BCE, 1,000-600 BCE, and 900-1,100 CE. These ancient settlements attest to the region's rich cultural heritage. The artifacts from the Western Alaska Peninsula were made possible through a series of grants awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF): NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner served as Principal Investigator for this project. The artifacts were digitized using either the Faro Edge Arm or the Minolta Vivid 9i scanner. Subsequent processing was conducted in Geomagic or Polyworks, while texture mapping utilized between 2-8 photos in Geomagic Wrap. The original digitization took place at the Idaho State University's IVL, with subsequent processing and publication completed by Global Digital Heritage.
