Sermoon D1 Fillament pulling solution
thingiverse
After lots of printing with my Creality Sermoon D1 I think I finally fixed the biggest issue of the Sermoon D1 which is mostly present when printing bigger prints. In the original configuration for the fillament guiding, if the printer moves from the right rear corner to the left front corner it will pull on the fillament very hard. This causes the the extruder to skip, slip or sometimes even break the fillament. especially when using a fresh roll of fillament which still has some weight to it, it just does not want to move this fast. To solve this I created a small bracket which can be mounted to the top fan mounting holes using 2pcs M3x20 screws. On the top a M6 Pneufit coupler can be screwed in to hold a PTFE tube to feed the fillament right into the extruder. This prevents sudden hard pulls on the fillament when the printhead moves from the rear to the front because the lenght of fillament inside the PTFE tube will remain the same. I used the bracket created by Lillmange to attach the PTFE tube to the original roller bracket: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4964851 To change fillament I simply pull the PTFE out of the pneufit coupler on the printhead which exposes the fillament for easy insertion and removal.
