My dog gets flea collars once or twice a year, and I'm always dismayed when I have to throw away the sturdy tin they come in. However, I've discovered that this frustration can be turned into a creative opportunity. As an outdoorsy person who enjoys watercolor sketching, I wanted to design a cheap and portable sketch box that could withstand rough handling. So, I came up with this kit to help you build one. The idea is to create a durable container that won't break the bank or worry about losing it in the wild. To make it happen, simply follow these steps: fill the tin with a selection of paints, including some budget-friendly options and a few high-quality artist's paints from Holbien and Windsor & Newton. Next, print out a palette list graphic to serve as your mixing surface - you can even duplicate it for added mixing space or leave room for travel brushes. Don't forget to add your paint names and give each color a swash of its own. Finally, print the design in white or spray enamel on top for a crisp finish. To maximize mixing area, be sure to coat the inside of the tin lid with white spray paint as well. Remember, STL files can be bulky, so try printing them at 96% - 98% scale for optimal results.
