The Prehistoric Sepulchre of Huerta Motero is a Tholos-style Dolmen constructed approximately 4,600 years ago. It belongs to the Copper Age or Calcolithic period, situated between the Neolithic and Bronze Age. The collective grave of Huerta Montero lies in the heart of Vega de Harnina, a fortified village with multiple wall lines at "Cabezo de San Marcos" and a nearby settlement during the Calcolitic era. Additionally, smaller settlements are found farther away from the primary village, such as this prehistoric sepulchre located 2.5 kilometers from the main population center. Archaeological sites in the area demonstrate human habitation since the IV millennium B.C. up to present times. Like many other Copper Age tombs, it is aligned so that sunlight enters the chamber on December 21 or 22, at dawn during the winter solstice.
