Sepulcro de la familia Téllez de Meneses (ca. 1300) sits proudly in the monasterio cisterciente of Santa María de Palazuelos, a family-owned panteón built in 1226. Today, it's part of the Museo Catedralicio y Diocesano de Valladolid collection. The monastery of Santa María de Palazuelos, once the central hub of the císter order and the family's panteón condal, was ravaged by the desamortización of Mendizábal in 1835. Like many other cenobios, it suffered greatly from this event. However, thanks to the tireless efforts of a local association, the monastery has been restored and its deterioration halted over the years. The sepulcral collection is divided between the monastery itself and several museums, including the Museo Catedralicio y Diocesano de Valladolid. Two of these pieces are showcased alongside this one in the museum's exhibition. Another piece can be found at the Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña.
