The main objective of these designs are detailed in "3D Printed UV-Vis Cuvette Adapter for Low Cost and Versatile Spectroscopic Experiments", a study published in the open access journal ACS Omega. Find the publication link here: http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acsomega.7b01310 This specific part is designed to replicate traditional quartz and glass UV-Vis Spectrometer cuvettes. In this design, a path length of 10 mm and a sample volume of approximately 2.4 mL are achieved. This cuvette can be sealed with a rubber septum, and it works well in most standard UV-Vis spectrometers. We suggest printing this design with black filament to minimize light scattering. A step-by-step video on assembling the spectrometer is shown below (post-printing), along with the materials used. Either quartz or glass windows can be chosen depending on the required spectral range of the cuvette.
