Separated Bread Sacrament Tray
thingiverse
Designed for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this separated Sacrament bread tray meets the specific requirement for sacrament bread separation. I create it using a multi-layer printing process, starting with four bottom layers and four top layers, all infused with 5% infill to provide structural integrity without the need for supports. The tray takes approximately nine hours to print on my printer, yielding a sturdy base that can withstand repeated use. To attach the handle securely, I print it separately with 10% infill and supports in place. For optimal results, I experiment with both horizontal and vertical printing methods. Printing horizontally requires about four hours but often leaves behind a messy support cleanup process, resulting in a rougher finish. In contrast, printing vertically takes an additional two hours and consumes an extra 20 grams of filament, but produces a more polished result. The tray is designed to attach seamlessly to the handle using eight lath screws measuring 1-1/4 inches, modified with truss head fasteners as depicted in the image.
