he Sentinels are a fictional variety of mutant-hunting robots that appear in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They are usually presented as antagonists of the X-Men. The Sentinels played a major role in the 1990s X-Men animated series and have been depicted in several X-Men video games. In addition, a mock version made a brief appearance in the beginning of the 2006 film, X-Men: The Last Stand, seen in the Danger Room. They are featured prominently in the 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past and also appear at the end of the 2016 film, X-Men: Apocalypse in the training simulator at Xavier's school. In 2009, the Sentinels were ranked by IGN as the 38th Greatest comic book villain of all time.1
