The Sentinel Class was designed to instantly replace the Sol Class Destroyer, a warship that had been serving for over two hundred years when the Sentinel entered service. Armament: 8 x "Gladius" Ray Cannons 26 x "Scimitar" Laser Cannons 2 x "Javalin" Compressed Array Lasers Maximum Sublight Speed: 0.94c Maximum Superlight Speed: 830c Hyperspace Jump Range Classified Phalanx II Integrated Defense Network Length: 890 meters Crew: 970 Cost per Unit: 4.5 Trillion (at start of production run down to 4.35 Trillion after 27 ships) Some might notice the large number of antennae on display. While some of these are standard short-range communication arrays, most serve as part of the ship's passive detection system, which measures distortions in space-time (gravity) to detect ships and other bodies at ranges exceeding 90 lightyears in real time.
