This is a protective cap designed specifically for an 18mm inductive or capacitive sensor. To bring this design to life, you'll need to incorporate the DK Projects OpenSCAD Threads library into your project. If you're working with the original OpenSCAD file and looking to make some adjustments, I recommend checking out the latest updates available on the DK Projects website. When it comes time to print this cap, ABS plastic is the recommended material of choice. To ensure a smooth printing process, it's best to avoid using any support materials. For optimal results, you'll want to flip the design upside down before sending it to your 3D printer. With version 2 of this design, I've added a few key features: a cutout for the thread and an extra 0.1mm of clearance. Additionally, the overall height has been increased by 4mm to provide a more substantial amount of material on the screw that connects to the sensor.
