Sensor-Housing for LoLin NodeMCU V3(ESP8266) + DHT-11/22

Sensor-Housing for LoLin NodeMCU V3(ESP8266) + DHT-11/22

thingiverse

I started home automation with openHAB using sensors based on ESP8266 and DHT. Unfortunately, I couldn't find suitable houses for my needs on thingiverse. Some designs didn't fit the boards properly, while others were poorly designed and generated heat that interfered with the ESP's measurement capabilities. This design is a bit rough but it works. It's easy to print and may be shower-proof enough to stay outside on a wall, although it might leak slightly. I deliberately avoided designing holes for screws because I prefer using a hot iron to mold the pins in place. There's a possibility that future upgrades will cover the exposed wiring area leading to the DHT; we'll just have to wait and see. I hope you enjoy this design for your project, and please don't hesitate to upload pictures of your print. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. By the way, check out https://www.letscontrolit.com/wiki/index.php/ESPEasy - programming is a fun hobby, but there are already some fantastic solutions available. Printer Settings: Printer Brand: Prusa Printer Model: Prusa Clone Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20% Notes: The adjustment/molding pins are designed correctly, but the slicer may struggle with them. In my case, Cura failed to slice the model, while Slic3r managed it successfully. If you print the "cut-out"-lid with the open side facing upwards, you won't need any support structures.
