Sennheiser HD500 Ear Cushion Rim (maybe HD570 HD575 HD590 HD270)
thingiverse
This is my first upload, please let me know if I can improve on something. The ear cushions on my old and trusty Sennheiser HD500 headphones were beyond salvation so I bought a new set of cushions online ((these are the ones I got) and they seem OK, not the best but will do fine). I'm not entirely sure if the printed rims fit on the other listed models (HD270, HD570, HD575 and HD590) but they fit on HD500 and the ear pads i bought are supposed to fit the other models as well. Please let me know if they don't fit the other models and I will remove the tags.I scanned the broken plastic rim that holds the ear cushion in place (with my flatbed scanner) and made a model in Fusion 360 (after the photos were taken I´ve added a notch at the top as per the original). The original plastic part is kind of flimsy and broke without much effort when removing the old cushions, so my version is thicker and wider to get more surface area for the glue (or double-sided tape) to stick to.Super glue was used to attach the cushions and the nets to the PLA rim, the rim then snaps into place on the headphones.I printed with some scrap PLA i had laying around that was seriously brittle, but it seems to work out fine after printing.I also included the file for my slicer settings in FlashPrint if anyone else uses a FlashForge Finder. It's pretty speedy and looks quite nice.
