So this is a custom fit that keeps the diaphragm and mic body of the e604 securely in place when you plug a cable into it, preventing them from falling out at the end. This little trick comes in handy if an overzealous drummer accidentally destroys your $100 microphone, and you want to get some extra use out of it before buying another three-pack from Amazon. I designed and printed this cap using PLA, with 100% infill, and then superglued it onto the end of the mic. Now the mic is functioning properly again, but its newfound sensitivity to being smashed by drummers has become a major concern due to the fact that the cap is made of plastic and lacks a protective grill. The absence of a grill may also alter the frequency response, potentially affecting the overall sound quality. The snare's bottom end might just be what I need to make this work!
