Learn more about the story of the Semi-Tube Slingshot and its performance at www.slingshotforum.com. Search for "aiping"! The Semi-Tube Slingshot works best when held right and drawn left - if you flip the smooth surface upside down, it should become a hold-left-draw-right slingshot. Template 2 is printed on thick stock for added durability. To build this slingshot, you'll need Template 1, 2, and 3. Warning: Only experienced woodworkers should attempt to craft this semi-slingshot! For those who want to create a wooden version, follow these steps: Place the template on a 3mm thick sheet of wood, making sure the smooth surface touches the wood. The rough surface should be facing up or, alternatively, you can reverse it so that the rough surface is down and the smooth surface is up - this will result in a hold-left-draw-right slingshot. Cut out the shape, then assemble the pieces in the correct order (refer to the screenshot). Glue them together, shape, and sand the slingshot into its final form. When using the template, keep in mind that the actual contours of the semi-slingshot follow the inner edge of the cut-out wood. You may remove the outer edge, but this can make it more difficult to assemble. To avoid this issue, you can scale up the printout by 5-10% in both x and y directions. As simple as it sounds, building this slingshot requires a lot of work!
