Semi circular fan duct for Tech2C E3D V6 X-carriage
thingiverse
Update 28.3.2017: - Added a by 2mm reduced version which should fit the original E3D V6 also. Distance between center screwholes and top is still the same, but the cut was made within the lower part of the design. This is my very first "New thing", and I'm always open to criticism. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please feel free to share them with me. I printed Tech2C's "E3Dv6 Bowden X-carriage mount v2 for Prusa i3" (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1632847), which is a great design, but the fan duct was blowing directly onto the Nozzle (an E3D clone with peaking M7 thread, so it's slightly longer than the original one). This sometimes caused the filament to cool down within the nozzle when the fan was above 60%. To solve this issue, I wanted to adapt the semi-circular fan duct (used from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1954001) to this setup. So, I combined both designs - the integrated Tech2C fan duct with the semi-circular end made by lokster and others. As sensor mount, I recommend using this design with a 10mm offset (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1639085). Print Settings: Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 25% Notes: Made two slightly different versions. Version 1: Print with support if your slicer can manage that correctly. Unfortunately, as a student, I cannot afford Simplify3D, so it's difficult to set the support for the desired positions. Version 2: Printable without support. The "wings" for the screws are a good benchmark for overhangs. So, the version to print depends on your slicer. If you're using a slicer that can handle support correctly, go with Version 1. Otherwise, use Version 2. Post-Printing: Attention! This design was originally made for the about 1-1.5 mm longer E3D V6 clone. It will also fit the original one, but it comes close to the bed if your nozzle height isn't adjusted perfectly.
