Selica Gel Box - Half Filament Box Size Slim
thingiverse
Around half the size of a one-kilogram filament box, printing two pieces will make them roughly the same size as that filament container (at least equal to my personal standard). 20.5 x 10.5 x 2 cm The storage box still had some unused space next to the filament, which wasn't big enough for another filament roll. To optimize this issue, I created a slim case to hold Silica Gel, maximizing the use of available space in my dry storage box. There is also a notch at one end so it will latch securely shut. ================== The walls are 2mm thick. A thickness of 1mm would also work, reducing print time by two hours per piece. For the top and bottom combined, this amounts to a four-hour saving! To achieve this, I moved the Z-offset in Cura to 1mm below the bed. However, it will result in a slightly more fragile structure. Additionally, the top won't be flush with the box since there's 1mm missing on top, but that's not a major concern. Please don't attempt this for PETG prints, as they might pop open due to its increased flexibility. ====================== A FreeCAD file version 0.18 is also included.
