DESIGN BRIEF - EAGLE LABS + BARCLAYS The project responds directly to the Eagle Labs design challenge, one of the few upcoming opportunities. BRIEF SET - Project Aqua Design a desk-friendly plant pot that encourages urban agriculture and promotes greener lifestyles among city residents. The goal is to create a system where users can easily care for their plants without neglecting them. AIM When introducing a plant into a workspace, it often ends up as a dead corner decoration or an unsightly plastic pot. This project aims to eliminate the stigma associated with neglected plants by providing a design that ensures proper care and maintenance. The challenge lies in meeting two simple needs: sunlight and water, which are easily overlooked in busy work environments. The design encourages users to adapt their surroundings to promote plant growth. A symbiotic relationship between the user's environment and the plant pot is achieved through a self-watering feature, allowing for prolonged plant care on a desk. The pot's visually displayed water levels enable users to understand when watering is necessary, creating a dynamic interaction between user and plant. FUNCTION OF DESIGN -- POLYGON Polygon reconnects the urban environment to personal workspace by fitting seamlessly into studios or desks. This design houses small plants that can thrive with minimal maintenance due to its self-watering feature. The transparent design showcases water levels, allowing users to monitor their plant's needs and adapt accordingly. REQUIRED 3D FUNCTION The design requires a specific acetone melting finish to waterproof the main container and plant pot section. Additionally, cotton string (at least 30 cm) is needed for customization purposes. Good quality natural soil and a small plant are also required to complete the setup.
