Self Watering Seed Starters
thingiverse
After using thing:4876620 for a year, I decided to make my own design. Here are the changes that I made: 1) Designed the individual cells to be much thicker so they would be much more durable. 2) Removed the inner walls on the base for a simpler design which is easy to clean and uses less plastic. 3) Modified the design on the bottom of the cells to make it easier to remove plants (made to fit a popsicle stick which is also used as a labeler [see .jpg]). 4) Added wide cells in small, medium, and large sizes. You should minimize any sun exposure or print with a plastic that is resistant to UV rays. You can minimize sun exposure by placing the seed starter in a location that gets only morning or afternoon sun for just a few hours. Many seeds do not require any sun light to get started.
