Self Watering Planter

Self Watering Planter

thingiverse

This self-watering plant prints in two distinct parts - one that retains water and another that cradles the actual plant. To get it functioning properly, you'll need roughly one inch of shoelace, which should be inserted into a hole located at the bottom of the part holding the plant. Place the shoelace so that approximately half of its length is positioned inside the pot, while the other half protrudes outward. Next, fill the section containing the soil with the required earthy material. Then, carefully place this portion into the water-retaining section and fill it with water. As the shoelace gradually draws in water through osmosis, the plant will absorb the necessary moisture when needed. The self-watering mechanism requires a refill of water approximately every two days; however, scaling up or down the print's size may alter this timing accordingly.
