Self resetting mouse trap
thingiverse
Human: Use this with a 5-gallon bucket, peanut butter, and rod to make a self-resetting mouse trap. The inside diameter is approximately .1 inches or just under 3 mm if you need it bigger let me know and I will make it so. Both the short and long rods are about 2.5 inches in diameter. The short one is 3 inches in length while the long one is 4 inches in length. There's also a collar to keep the trap in place on the rod. Print four collars and use two to hold the trap and two to prevent the rod from falling off of the bucket. For the collar, you'll need #6-32 set screws if using metric or a 4mm-7 set screw available at Home Depot. Print Settings: Printer - QiDi; Resolution - .2; Infill - ;20. Notes: I used infill 50 for collars. Post-printing use a rod or coat hanger and a five-gallon bucket, drill holes in the bucket, place the rod through with cylinder on it, put peanut butter on the cylinder, and there you go. Make sure the cylinder is below the top surface of the bucket to ensure proper function. You'll also need a ramp leading from the floor to the top of the bucket and at least 1/2 gallon of liquid in the bucket or the mice will jump out. I use RV antifreeze as it's non-toxic and can be dumped down the drain when empty. Custom Section: For your information, I have caught around 20 mice within a four-month time frame using this setup.
