Self Draining Scrupper - Kayak
thingiverse
I have a fishing kayak that's lower in the water, and I always find myself dealing with water in the cockpit, so I created this self-draining scupper that works remarkably well. You'll need to resize it to fit your kayak. The second version was too small, so I used duck tape to increase its dimensions and get a nice seal. The next version will be flatter at the top for even better drainage. Version 5 is designed to be split, allowing you to print the ball and remove the supports. To ensure a smooth fit, resize the top or bottom by 1.5% in your slicer - either up to 101.5% or down to 98.5%. Then use some duck tape to keep the parts together and get it fitted into your kayak just right. I find it best to print the top at full size and reduce the bottom to 98.5%. Version 6 has no rim, as shown in the photo. Let me know if you'd like me to upload the file.
