Self Contained HEPA + Carbon Filter

Self Contained HEPA + Carbon Filter

This is an unpolished remix and I will be updating it as I go along and tweak things as needed. I'm working on building an enclosure for the Sunlu S8 printer in order to utilize it's larger bed size when printing in ABS, ASA, etc. As I don't have a garage and do not have the ability to exhaust ABS fumes safely out of a window, I am needing a self contained filter that will prevent fumes and smells, while redistributing the air into the enclosure as to not drop temperatures. My design here is heavily influenced from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3545458, with slight adjustments to the main design. Design Changes are as follows: 1. This design is done specifically for a 120mm fan. 2. This design is done to recirculate air within the enclosure and does not exhaust out. Air escapes back into the enclosure due to a 5mm spacing on all sides between the Fan and Body Mounting Plates. 3. Magnetic attachment between the Filter and Fan Compartments allows for easy removal of the Filter Compartment to change filters as needed without needing to remove the entire assembly from your enclosure. BOM: 4- M5x10 Screws 4- M5x20 Screws 4- #6 Screws 8- 6x2mm button magnets 1- HEPA Filter (one indicated for use in original design is Kenmore 86889 (5.9"X3.8"X0.5")) 1- Carbon Filter cut to fit (one indicated for use in original design is VEVA Premium Carbon Activated Pre Filter) Instructions on construction: 1. Print parts in flat orientation. Only the Fan Compartment and Filter Compartment may need supports. I suggest printing those with the honeycomb design down on both to allow for easier clean up. 2. Glue in Magnets into the recesses on the Filter Compartment and the Fan Compartment. 3. M5x10 screws to mount the 120mm fan to the Fan Mounting Plate. 4. M5x20 screws to mount the Body Mounting Plate, Fan Mounting Plate, and Fan Compartment, in that order. 5. #6 screws to mount the Body Mounting Plate (which should now be attached to the other two components) to the body of your enclosure. 6. Insert your carbon filter and HEPA filter into the Filter Compartment. 7. Attach the Filter Compartment to the Fan Compartment. This should snap into place with the magnets. As stated previously, I have not yet printed and tested this design. I have another printer coming in this week that will allow me to print some other pieces I'm needing to get the Sunlu S8 operational within the enclosure to print and test this filter. Any and updates will be noted here until it's final revision. Thank you,
