Self centring Vice Clamp

This versatile Vice style clamp is a must-have accessory for any RepRap printer owner. Print it in Nylon or Carbon Fiber filament for exceptional stiffness and durability. Assemble the clamp using M6 screws and nuts, and attach the "hands" to the "arms" with 3mm Diameter sticks. For our specific application (PhotoVoltaic cell characterisation apparatus), we added 8mm diameter, 3.1mm deep holes for standard super magnets that will be glued in place to hold a 0.7 thick steel sheet. This custom-cut sheet allows us to attach micromanipulators on top using additional super magnets. The two M6 screws and nuts half-holes between the Body Top and Bottom parts are spaced 75mm apart, matching labware metric standards. However, in our setup, these holes serve as attachment points for securing this clamp to the Gimbal of the apparatus once the PV sample is clamped and micromanipulators adjusted under a microscope. The "arms" of the clamp can be removed and inverted to accommodate smaller objects. We've included a SketchUp model so you can modify it according to your needs. Please note that this clamp is not designed for heavy-duty use, so feel free to design new arms if needed. Enjoy using this useful clamp!
