Self Centering Bush
thingiverse
This model was made as a diameter reducer for a friend's telescope, specifically to create a self-centering bush that changes 2" in diameter to 1.25". The tight fit of both diameters allows the flexible vanes to compress and apply even pressure around the shaft, ensuring centering and collimation. It could also work as an airless tire design for RC vehicles when printed with a flexible filament. Additionally, it can be used as a tolerance ring. Feel free to modify or adapt this concept for other sizes and purposes; consider scaling up X and Y for a bangle/bracelet. An update on 1st May adjusted the diameters by 0.2mm for increased tightness, with the length changed to 30mm. You can also visit www.gyrobot.co.uk or facebook.com/gyrobotuk for more information.
