I would like to introduce you to my self-built telescope, which is constructed using 5mm and 10mm plywood. This telescope is the result of my passion for astronomy and my enthusiasm for hands-on projects. To achieve full automation, I have integrated a Raspberry Pi with an Arduino board and Stellarium, a popular astronomy software. The main body of the telescope is made from sturdy 10mm plywood, providing a stable and solid structure. The optics consist of high-quality lenses and mirrors, carefully selected for optimal performance and clarity. The telescope's primary mirror, located at the bottom of the tube, gathers incoming light, while the secondary mirror directs it towards the eyepiece or camera. To enable precise and automated control, I have employed a Raspberry Pi as the central hub. Connected to an Arduino, it receives commands and coordinates from Stellarium, a powerful astronomy software capable of accurately tracking celestial objects. This integration allows for automated slewing, tracking, and alignment, greatly enhancing the user experience and reducing the complexity of manual adjustments. The Raspberry Pi communicates with the Arduino, which controls the motorized mounts and other peripherals. By leveraging the power of Stellarium's extensive database, the telescope can automatically locate and track various celestial objects, including stars, planets, and deep-sky objects. With just a few clicks or commands, users can explore the wonders of the night sky without the need for manual adjustments. The use of plywood for the construction of this telescope not only provides a cost-effective solution but also offers durability and stability. The layers of plywood are carefully cut and assembled, ensuring a precise and robust structure that can withstand the rigors of regular use.In conclusion, my self-built telescope combines the art of craftsmanship with the marvels of technology. Its integration of a Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and Stellarium enables fully automated control, making it easier for enthusiasts to explore the celestial wonders above. This project has been a labor of love, and I am delighted to share the joy of astronomy with others through this unique creation.
