Self articulating Arm
thingiverse
I really love the Articulating Arm by doctriam and the remix by igorF2. But how much more awesome would it be if it could move on its own without having to tighten and loosen the screws every time? So, here is my take on it!!! This design uses a spring that pushes down on the articulating grooves and locks into place when you reach each new groove. The knob lets you adjust just how much force is needed to get the arm moving again. The Arm was designed to be super versatile and work on all sorts of projects. I'm really hoping it gets used in tons of cool creations! Since the LED lamp parts by igorF2 are so popular, I've included those too. Please keep in mind that this design is a bit larger than the original by igorF2, at 120% of its size, to make room for the spring. You can use either a 9/32" or 7/32" spring with this arm, and if you're feeling lucky, check out Harbor Freight's big box of assorted springs for just $3!
