Self Aligning T-Nuts M4 and M5
thingiverse
The aluminum profiles utilized are MK Aluminium Profiles, manufactured in Germany, with square inside tracks. The t-nuts employed require specific features, such as self-centering during tightening and insertion even when profile ends are closed. These "T-Nuts" use regular M4 & M5 nuts pressed in and measure 10mm wide, with a 45-degree angle for effective tightening. To install, the nut goes at the bottom as shown in the picture. The screw length should not be much longer than the t-nut to prevent pushing against the profile track's base. The t-nut thickness is 7mm, designed almost the same as the depth of the track for optimal plastic support during tightening. Slightly shaving off a millimeter or two could improve it further. The advantage of this design is that you can easily insert the t-nuts into the track without needing to slide them in from one end. For enhanced strength, these parts are printed with 100% infill.
