Self Aligning LM8UU
thingiverse
Hi all! This is my first major upload to Thingiverse. I've got a few things in my portfolio, but none that I've spent hours fine-tuning with revisions and edits. I found this design to be incredibly useful and well-received, so if you don't mind, please give me a thumbs up by liking it. If you're feeling inspired, consider showing your appreciation with a tip – every bit counts! I know I'm not as prolific as some designers out there, but any motivation to keep pushing my creativity forward is much appreciated. Orientation makes all the difference when it comes to strength; for optimal results, I printed the layers perpendicular to the ball's axis. To achieve smoother sliding action, you may need to give those spherical surfaces a good sanding. The Igus bearings have grooves that can be tricky to work with, but I used o-rings to keep them in place within the ball – using a retaining ring would be even better.
